Tracie grew up with three sisters and a brother in a farmhouse surrounded by cornfields and relatives.
Her husband refers to her family as another version of the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” because everywhere you turn there’s a relative or a loud gathering. And just like the end of the movie when Gus and Maria gave Toula and Ian a house next door as a wedding gift, Tracie’s parents gave them a piece of land down the road to keep them close.
So even though Tracie has lived her entire adult life in a city or suburb, she remains firmly grounded in the traditions of her people: Christian faith, family togetherness, hospitality, creative activities, reading and discussing ideas.
Because so much of what Tracie learned and experienced as a child has flowed into her own home and family, Tracie hopes Riceford Streams will inspire you to create your own authentic home.
