Sewing Organization: Mini Maker Case

Today I made a Mini Maker Case to store my turquoise mini project iron. I used the free pattern by Lillyella Stitchery. The pattern also includes tips and videos from the sew-along last fall.

Fabrics are Pop by Rashida Coleman-Hale and Rainbow Hexy Rainbow by Tula Pink.

I used the same fabrics in my Sew Together Bag. I’m using almost every inch of the Pop fabric; it’s one of my favorites and no longer available.

The mini iron is handy for pressing seams as I construct a quilt block. I think it’ll also be perfect for sewing with my young nieces and nephews. It’s lightweight and easy to control. Plus, it’s just so cute with my other aqua sewing notions!

The bag came together relatively easily with clear instructions.

There’s a Mini Maker Bag Facebook group, and based on recommendations from members, I used Soft and Stable rather than fusible fleece. I also finished the seams with a multiple zigzag stitch rather than concealing it with a bias binding.

Sewing Room Organization

We moved into our home four months ago, and I’m still settling in. Stay tuned: I might be moving from the upstairs bedroom to a room in the basement that was used for sewing by the original owner.

February Sew Alongs

I’m joining in the Stronger Together quilt along that begins February 1. The quilt is an original design for the Fat Quarter Shop. I hope you join in!

“The Stronger Together Quilt Along and Stitch Along will last for four weeks, from February 1 – 28, 2021. Each week we’ll sew part of the Stronger Together quilt and cross-stitch and share updates each week on the blog. The quilt along will follow the pattern instructions, week by week.” – Jolly Jabber

I’m also joining the Color of Connection quilt along during February. I hope you read about this great opportunity to make more connections with quilters and support new quilters.

Joyfully,

Tracie
