I’m thankful for many people who have served as a mentor to me, even though we never called it mentoring. I can name pastors, teachers, professors, Bible study leaders, homeschool support group leaders, relatives, neighbors, and friends who have spoken truth and modeled godly living to me. Usually it was in a group setting — occasionally one on one.
I believe God placed those men and women in my life not only for my benefit, but also with the plan that I would pass along the insight and encouragement that was invested in me.
During February I need to escape from winter, and I often search out spring at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Today I walked directly to the familiar fountain and stone statue of Saint Francis of Assisi in the North Garden because the scene seemed to beautifully illustrate Jordan Feliz‘s song, Satisfied, that was filling my heart and my head.
I’m thankful I finally learned how to make a beautiful, delicious pie. On a cold day in January the oven warms our home and the fragrance fills the house with a promise of good things to come.
